A Norwegian start-up is developing a digital paper tablet it hopes will appeal to “paper people”. The device – called ReMarkable – can be written on using a stylus and is textured to feel like real paper.

Discussion

1) The idea and development of electronic paper has been around for decades.  The MIT Innovation lab was working on this 20 years ago.  Why is there such a push for electronic paper when we already have tablets and smartscreens?

2) The key here seems to be the “feel”.  Why is feel so important when technology replaces mechanical items?
