Discussion

1) “Shot spotter” technology means that very high fidelity microphones are placed in an area to record audio which is then analyzed for the distinct sound of gunshots.   What are the privacy issues with always-on microphones being deployed in public areas?

2) The cost of this technology is not the microphones but the software to analyze the sounds 24 x 7 and provide immediate response to law enforcement if shots are detected.  Is this Software as a Service SaaS?
