A cybersecurity researcher living in Austria who was scammed out of $500 says his money was returned after he tracked down the scammer’s family and contacted them on Facebook.

1) “He had decided to accept payment in the digital currency as he thought it would be less of an incentive for a scammer.”  What do you think this cybersecurity researcher’s reasoning was here?

2) How can you avoid this scam of having to send gift cards with their codes to prove they have value before receiving payment?  How might a company use this sort of service?
